Sudbury Catholic DSB remits $$$ generated by savings from Energy Conservation Initiatives back to schools!

To date, SCDSB has saved more than $1.7 million in energy since the inception of its Energy Management Program in the mid 1990s. Over the last 7 years, the SCSS have been actively involved in the "Awareness" Component of the Board's Energy Management Program, through the implementation of the Dearness Conservation Initiative, which focuses on providing environmental education and promoting sustainable practices.

Above, Mark Gervais , Energy Coordinator with the SCDSB, presents Mrs Patty Mardero, Principal at SCC & Mr. David Soehner, Principal at St David's Elementary School with their appreciable rebate cheques for generated saving from reduced energy consumption in their schools for 2006/2007. All SCDSB schools who achieved savings received rebate cheques.
