School districts have experienced declining operational funding over the past several years that have produced pressing budgetary issues. There is a urgent need in the school district market segment for solutions to help
reduce facility cost.
There is limited money to fund education programs and new space needs. The result is that:
- Schools suffer from building and infrastructure deterioration and depreciation.
- There is a legacy of deferred maintenance of building systems, distribution systems and power plants that needs to be addressed (in the US, close to 76% of public school districts, colleges, and universities wrestle with the effects of years of deferred building maintenance.)
- Increase awareness of the environmental

management practice that incorporates improving energy and resource efficiency into the district's dayto- day operations.
As a result, they are proactive in identifying and implementing measures to reduce energy use while maintaining the building's comfort and services. |
